The chapel is part of the Our Lady of Mount Scapular parish complex in Studzieniczna. The neo-Renaissance chapel of Our Lady Mother of Studzieniczna Mother of Church, on the island, houses the image of Our Lady of Studzieniczna (the 18th century copy of the Jasna Góra in Częstochowa painting). The chapel was built in 1871 on 64 oak stilts with materials used for the construction of the Augustów Canal locks. Next to the chapel, under a shingled roof, there is a well with miraculous water. Nearby, there is also a stone statue of St. John of Nepomuk.
In 1999, Studzieniczna was visited by Pope John Paul II. To commemorate this visit, a monument by Czesław Dźwigaj was erected there in 2000.
