The building of Our Lady of Częstochowa Church in Augustów was erected between 1896 and 1909 as a Russian military Orthodox church. In the years 1927-1939, it served as a garrison Catholic church for the 1st Krechowce Uhlan Regiment. The church was built of solid brick on a stone foundation. In the temple, on the right side of the altar, a painting of Our Lady of Czestochowa is hanging, known as Our Lady of Krechowce.
