In the second half of the 18th century, on an island in Studzieniczne Lake, settled a hermit, Wincenty Murawski, who became famous in the area as a herbalist and healer. In 1770, he built a small chapel, at the well with miraculous water, which has become a popular pilgrimage site.
The first wooden church was built in Studzieniczna in 1786 in connection with the growing cult of the image of Our Lady of Częstochowa in the area. The present wooden church dedicated to Our Lady of Scapular was built in 1847. The tower is decorated with a beautiful cross made by a blacksmith. The interior of the church was decorated by folk artists with wood and deer antlers.
